No, it’s not mandatory to have a job while applying for a Global Talent Visa. This visa allows you to change jobs or establish yourself as an employer itself or an entrepreneur in the UK. You don’t need any authorization to switch careers or seek permission for employment with this work visa.
  • An applicant can still apply for the Global Talent Visa category even if he/she doesn’t meet any of these eligibility criteria.
  • He/she has to apply for a full peer review of the immigration application. Peer review is done by the Royal Academy of Engineering or British Academy or Royal Society.

What Documents are Required by the Global Talent Visa?

After securing an endorsement from an authorized endorsing body, the UK Global Talent Visa route directs applicants to proceed for Stage 2.

This is where you have to submit several documents to satisfy the Home Office:

  • Passport, in original, with a minimum validity of six months as on the date of submission of the visa application. 
  • One recent passport-size color photograph showing the full face.
  • Proof of residence: Either a copy of National ID Card or Utility Bill such as electricity, telephone, or water bill
  • Proof of profession: Certificate from the employer. In the case of students, a copy of Identity card from the educational institution is to be attached.
  • Proof of funds: Endorsement of foreign currency equivalent to US $150/- per applicant or copy of international credit card or updated bank statement showing sufficient balance to finance travel to India.
  • Tuberculosis Test Result: Clear tuberculosis (TB) test result letter, if the applicant is from one of the countries on the Home Office's TB testing list

If any of your documents are not written in English, it is mandatory to provide a certified translation. Translation of the same along with your application.

How to Apply for the Global Talent Visa Fees?

The application process of the Global Talent Visa involves 2 stages.

Different charges apply to these 2 different stages

  • Endorsement: The endorsement fee for each primary Global Talent Visa applicant is £456. This fee is applicable for the first-time endorsement application.
  • Visa Application: The Global Talent Visa application costs £152. If the applicant is a passport holder of Turkey or North Macedonia, then visa application fees will be £97.

The Global Talent Visa route also allows you to take your spouse, partner, and ‘dependants’ to the UK along with you. When you include any such eligible person on your application form, then you have to pay extra fees of £608 per dependant.

Apart from Endorsement and Visa Application Fees, an applicant has to pay for Immigration Health Surcharge (HIS) while applying for a Global Talent Visa in the UK.
