The Global Talent Visa (earlier known as Tier 1"Exceptional Talent Visa") allows you to work in the UK for up to five years and apply without a sponsor or other entry requirements like language tests or minimum salary thresholds.

Exceptional talent: This is given to individuals who are highly talented in their field

What are the eligibility criteria to get a Global Talent Visa?

This visa category is inclusive of individuals with exceptional talents who want to immigrate to the UK to contribute their skills.

The basic qualifications are high qualification and accomplishment in your field. The streams in which you can get a Global Talent Visa are as follows:

A Complete Document checklist for 2021 (Global Talent Visa)

The Global Talent Visa required documents are as follows:

  • Passport, in original, with a minimum validity of six months as on the date of submission of the visa application. 
  • One recent passport-size color photograph showing the full face.
  • Proof of residence: Either a copy of National ID Card or Utility Bill such as electricity, telephone, or water bill
  • Proof of profession: Certificate from the employer. In the case of students, a copy of Identity card from the educational institution is to be attached.
  • Proof of funds: Endorsement of foreign currency equivalent to US $150/- per applicant or copy of international credit card or updated bank statement showing sufficient balance to finance travel to India.
  • Tuberculosis Test Result: Clear tuberculosis (TB) test result letter, if the applicant is from one of the countries on the Home Office's TB testing list

  • For applying for a Global Talent Visa by the Senior Appointment program, you need a Statement of Assurance or Guarantee from the HR of your employing organization.
  • For applying for a GTV under the Fellowship program, you need to submit a copy of a valid award letter. 
  • For a UK research grant issued by an endorsed funder, you need to submit the award letter and the Statement of Guarantee by the employing institute.
