In March 2015, Yukon introduced an express entry program to the existing immigration programs.

You can apply under the skilled worker program if you have a job or an occupation under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) O, A, and B.

The critical impact worker category is applicable for all those low-skilled or unskilled workers who applied under national occupational classification skill levels of C and D.

The Business nominee program provides an opportunity for the foreign entrepreneurs to start, own and operate their business in the Yukon Province. You have to meet many stringent regulations to start your business in Yukon under the Business Nominee Program.

The Yukon Community Pilot (YCP) was created to meet the specific economic and labour market needs of Yukon Province. This is a new stream in the Yukon provincial nominee program. The eligible and qualified candidates will be granted a 2-year location-restricted open work permit.

• The applicant should have a minimum 6-month relevant experience for the position being nominated with the same employer.
• The applicant should have sufficient funds to support himself in Yukon.
• The applicant should have a minimum high-school diploma qualification.
• The applicant should have at least 55 points on the pre-assessment grid.
• You should have minimum language abilities.

• You should hold a temporary work permit or a student visa when applying if you are already present in Canada.
• You should not be under refugee status.
• You should not be in a visitor status or any other implied status.
• You should have a job offer on hand from a recognized employer. The job should meet the economic needs, and labor needs skills.
• You should also provide proof of your educational credentials and the relevant work experience.
• You have to demonstrate language proficiency by taking 3 language proficiency tests, which can be seen in the Application Handbook.

• You should apply to the Canadian government for permanent residence within 3-6 months of beginning the work.

• The candidate should achieve at least 65 points on the assessment grid.

• The minimum qualification needed is high-school education.

• The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience relevant to the intended establishment of the business.

• The applicant must be financially capable of living with the dependents if need be in Yukon while investing or managing the business.
• At the time of making the application, under the Business nominee program, the applicant should not have started or managed the business.
• The intended business should be within the classification of O or A under the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
• The applicant must show that he will invest at least $300,000 in business for the first two years. This investment, however, does not include any capital investment made before the acceptance by the Yukon Business Nominee Program.
• The capital investments include property or equipment purchase. It does not include the purchase of house, vehicles which are utilized partially by the business.

The comprehensive ranking system (CRS) that is needed for the Yukon PNP express program is 600 points over and above their human capital score. Hence, the minimum comprehensive ranking system is 743.

Yes, IELTS is required for Yukon PNP. A level of 6 should be achieved in the exam. However, as a test of proficiency, CELPIP and TEF are also considered.

Yes, you can. You need to apply for Canada PR to change your province. Once you arrive at the entry point, you should talk to the border officials and provide the PN number. They will check all the requirements and meet all the laws and regulations as a new immigrant. If the officers are not sure that you will live in that province, you may be asked to return to your origin.
