Yukon Express Entry Skilled Trades Requirements
  • Meet the minimum requirements for the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
  • Be accepted into IRCC’s Express Entry pool and have an Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
  • Have the required settlement funds to support themselves and their families in Canada (even if their families are not coming with them).
  • Have a valid, permanent, full-time job offer from an employer in Yukon.
  • Possess a certificate of qualification in the required skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority. To get a certificate in Yukon, the Apprenticeship and Tradesperson Qualifications authority will assess the candidate’s training, trade experience and skills to decide if they are eligible to sit an exam.
  • Plan to live in Yukon.
  • The applicant should have a minimum 6-month relevant experience for the position being nominated with the same employer.
  • The applicant should have sufficient funds to support himself in Yukon.
  • The applicant should have a minimum high-school diploma qualification.
  • The applicant should have at least 55 points on the pre-assessment grid.
  • You should have minimum language abilities.
The foreign Nationals eligibility to apply under the critical impact worker immigration program or the skilled worker immigration program are:
  • You should hold a temporary work permit or a student visa when applying if you are already present in Canada.
  • You should not be under refugee status.
  • You should not be in a visitor status or any other implied status.
  • You should have a job offer on hand from a recognized employer. The job should meet the economic needs, and labor needs skills.
  • You should also provide proof of your educational credentials and the relevant work experience.
  • You have to demonstrate language proficiency by taking 3 language proficiency tests, which can be seen in the Application Handbook.
  • You must have the intention to stay and live in Yukon.
  • You should apply to the Canadian government for permanent residence within 3-6 months of beginning the work.
  • The candidate should achieve at least 65 points on the assessment grid.
  • The applicant must have proficiency in English or French.
  • The minimum qualification needed is high-school education.
However, if the intended business needs higher education, then:
  • The candidate should have at least 3-years of entrepreneurial experience.
  • The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience relevant to the intended establishment of the business.
  • The Canadian Immigration Dept. should never deny the applicant.
  • The applicant should not have applied under any other Canadian immigration programs.
  • The applicant should not have refugee status or active status for refugee status.
  • The applicant must have an intention to live in Yukon.
  • The applicant must be financially capable of living with the dependents if need be in Yukon while investing or managing the business.
  • At the time of making the application, under the Business nominee program, the applicant should not have started or managed the business.
  • The intended business should be within the classification of O or A under the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
  • The applicant must show that he will invest at least $300,000 in business for the first two years. This investment, however, does not include any capital investment made before the acceptance by the Yukon Business Nominee Program.
  • The capital investments include property or equipment purchase. It does not include the purchase of house, vehicles which are utilized partially by the business.
The intended business must fall in any of the below mentioned strategic industries:

How to apply for Yukon PNP?

You can apply for the Yukon provincial nominee program under four nomination streams.
